A pregnancy test can be taken from the first day of a missed period. Generally, the sooner a test is taken the better.

Any unprotected sex also puts you at risk of getting a sexually transmitted infection, so you should have a sexual health check-up (screen) as well. You may have no symptoms at all and still have acquired an infection; a check-up is the only way to know for sure.
